JPRS Submitted Comments to the ITU Council Working Group on international Internet-related public policy issues (CWG-Internet) jointly with world technical community coalition (3 September 2024)

On 3 September 2024, JPRS, in collaboration with a global coalition of the technical community, submitted its comments in response to the online open consultation[*1] organized by the ITU Council Working Group on International Internet-related Public Policy Issues (CWG-Internet)[*2].

The CWG-Internet is tasked with identifying, studying, and developing matters related to international Internet public policy issues to foster discussion within the ITU. This online open consultation invites public comments from all stakeholders under the theme "The developmental aspects to strengthen the Internet."

JPRS has previously submitted comments on open consultations conducted by CWG-Internet[*3][*4]. This time, we contributed to the consultation alongside the technical community coalition TCCM[*5].

In our submission[*6], we emphasized the importance of a multistakeholder process for the development of the Internet, underscored the need for collaboration among diverse stakeholders with examples like Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) and IPv6, and highlighted the necessity of continuing and strengthening the IGF to enhance the Internet.

The comments submitted will be discussed during the physical open consultation at the ITU headquarters in Geneva on 3 October 2024.
