Japan Registry Services Co., Ltd. ("JPRS") considers it an important social responsibility to protect personal information appropriately, and accordingly will take the following measures to protect, manage, implement and utilize personal information.
Some individual services and websites (each a "Service") provided by JPRS may have their own policies governing the handling of personal information, so please also confirm these when using a Service. If there is any conflict between this JPRS Policy on Personal Information Protection (this "Policy") and the policies of a Service, then the policies of the Service will control.

Compliance with Laws
JPRS complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of Japan, other applicable laws and regulations concerning the protection of personal information, the guidelines concerning the protection of personal information in the telecommunications business published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, the guidelines concerning the protection of personal information published by the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan, and the provisions of this Policy.
Categories of Information Acquired
To the extent necessary, JPRS acquires the following information from users of each Service and from viewers of our websites (collectively the "Users").
- User's name
- User's address
- User's telephone number
- User's email address
- Name of organization to which User belongs, its address and telephone number, and URL of its website
- User's credit card number if necessary for payment
- URL utilized by User
- Type of browser utilized by User for using each Service or for viewing our websites
- IP address of device utilized by User to use each Service or to view our websites
- Other information analogous to the preceding items, and the information identified in the documents relating to each Service
Manner of Acquiring Personal Information
Apart from Services with separate policies, JPRS may acquire personal information orally, in writing, through electromagnetic records or in other ways when Users apply to utilize services provided by JPRS, when Users view our websites, when Users make various types of inquiries to JPRS, and when required in order for JPRS to provide its services. On such occasions, JPRS will acquire personal information in a proper manner.
Specifying and Clearly Indicating the Purposes for Which Personal Information Will Be Used
When handling personal information, JPRS will specify the purposes for which personal information is to be used as explicitly as possible. Except when the prior consent of the User has been obtained, or when laws or regulations require exceptional measures, JPRS will use acquired personal information only to the extent necessary to accomplish the purposes of use that have been specified in advance.
Manner of Providing Notice, Publicizing or Obtaining Consent, and How Users are Involved
In addition to the methods stated in documents relating to each Service, JPRS will provide notice of or publicize the purposes for which personal information is to be used, or obtain the consent of Users, in an appropriate manner in accordance with laws and regulations.
JPRS will respond in accordance with laws and regulations to User requests for the disclosure, suspension of utilization, or correction of personal information in its possession.
Provision to Third Parties
Except when laws or regulations require exceptional measures or when a Service has provided in advance for disclosure to a third party (including third parties in foreign countries), and except when the prior consent of Users has been obtained, JPRS will not provide personal information to any third party.

JPRS will handle User complaints relating to personal information in a prompt and appropriate manner and will endeavor to maintain internal systems for this purpose.

Steps for Revision of this Policy
JPRS may from time to time review its handling of personal information and revise the provisions of this Policy. Updates to this Policy will be announced on the JPRS website.
Users' Opportunities to Make Choices; Data Portability
Please refer to the documents relating to each Service for the details of a User's opportunities to make choices, such as for the suspension of use of the User's information upon the User's request.
Separately from this Policy we may determine matters regarding data portability, such as procedures for transferring User information when a User who has used our services changes to services provided by another service provider.
Outsourcing
When JPRS engages subcontractors or service providers to handle all or part of the acquired personal information, JPRS will carry out necessary and appropriate supervision of the engaged parties in order to cause them to take necessary and appropriate security control measures.
Security Control Measures
JPRS will handle the provided personal information in a secure manner in order to comply with the provisions of this Policy, and will take appropriate measures to prevent illegal or unauthorized access, loss, destruction, tampering or leakage thereof.
Other Matters Regarding Protection of Users' Rights and Interests
Our websites may send Users text files called "cookies" to be saved on Users' computers. Please refer to "About our websites" for details.
Application of this Policy with Modifications
To the extent necessary, the provisions of this Policy will apply with modifications to parties other than Users, such as those who engage in business transactions with us.
