Partial Closure of WHOIS Services
(3 October 2003)
WHOIS is the mechanism to publish registered information for the purposes specified in the "Policy Document (in Japanese)"
Contrary to the above purposes, some businesses make use of the WHOIS data to send direct mails. Use of the data for the purposes other than those specified may cause troubles, so it is becoming the serious issue.
To respond to this situation, JPRS will close the following WHOIS services on 7 October.
Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated.
Services to be closed on 7 October 2003
